The 94th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of The Singapore Police Co-operative Society Ltd held at 11.00 am on 25 June 2024 at HomeTeamNS-Khatib, Ballroom, 2 Yishun Walk Singapore 767944.

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the cooperative took place with a robust attendance of over 90 members, including both ordinary and associate members. The event was presided over by Mr. Hoong Wee Teck, the President of the cooperative, and featured a comprehensive agenda aimed at reviewing the past year’s performance and setting the stage for future operations.

Opening Address

The meeting commenced with an opening address by Chairman Mr. Koh Wei Keong. Mr. Koh provided an overview of the cooperative’s achievements over the past year, highlighted key areas of focus, and outlined the meeting’s agenda.

Presidential Speech

The highlight of the AGM was the speech delivered by Mr. Hoong Wee Teck, the President of the cooperative. Mr. Hoong addressed the members with a detailed review of the cooperative’s performance throughout the financial year ending 31 December 2023. His speech covered the cooperative’s strategic direction, challenges faced, and key milestones achieved.

Report of the Board of Directors

Following the President’s speech, the meeting proceeded to the consideration and approval of the report of the Board of Directors for the financial year ended 31 December 2023. The report was presented in detail, encompassing financial statements, operational highlights, and strategic initiatives.

Election of Board Members

An important segment of the AGM was the election/re-election of up to 8 individuals to the Board of Directors. The election process was conducted through an online voting system, with members present at the venue casting their votes. The candidates for the Board of Directors were introduced, and their credentials were reviewed before the voting began.

After the votes were tallied, the new directors were announced. The newly elected Board members are:

1. Koh Wei Keong
2. Wong Xing Shun Justin
3. Tan Jin Rui Jerald
4. Koh Wei Lin, Wendy
5. Tan Cheng Siong
6. Bertran Chia Chwee Peng
7. Chew Jingwei
8. Koh Chao Rong

These individuals along with 7 others elected by the president will serve as directors from the 94th to 96th Annual General Meeting.

Dividend Declaration

The AGM concluded with the announcement of the final dividend payment. The cooperative declared a final dividend of 2.75% along with a special dividend of 1.25%, based on members’ shares and subscriptions as at 31 December 2023. The dividends are scheduled to be paid on 9 July 2024. This decision was warmly welcomed by the members, reflecting the cooperative’s commitment to providing value to its members.

Discussion on Future Adjustments

The meeting included a discussion on adjustments for the financial year 2024 and an overview of the estimated expenditure for the financial year 2025. These discussions aimed to align the cooperative’s financial strategies with its long-term objectives and ensure effective resource allocation.

The AGM was concluded with a lunch buffet served for all attendees. This provided an opportunity for members to network, discuss the outcomes of the meeting, and enjoy a meal together.

The AGM was a successful event, marked by strong participation and constructive discussions. The cooperative’s leadership expressed gratitude to all members for their ongoing support and active engagement in shaping the cooperative’s future.
